How to Study

How to prepare and study for your exam

There are a lot of practice exams with thousands of questions but taking smaller tests focusing on specific questions are best. That's what we have put together here is questions that have actually been on the exams. Plus the number one thing is knowing your code book from cover to cover, but you do not need to know every word, just where to find the answer. That is why I will walk you through the NEC page by page and show you keywords and exact answers to highlight that have been on the exam.

Keys to studying for your exam

  • Study often and early.
  • Use our program the right way and prepare your code book,
  • Prior to the exam take as many study tests as possible (This will help you in knowing the NEC cover to cover).
  • Try not to read the NEC but know where to find any question that might come up. Example:  grounding is in article 250 or conductor table is 310.16.
  • Study tests that jump from cover to cover are best in the final stages before the class.
  • Go through this study guide as many times as you need, until you’re happy with the results of each lesson.
  • Oh yea did I mention taking a lots of study tests, are very important.
